Portfolio Reports
A fund's thesis, checked against what its companies actually ship.
Every company in a fund's book that ships a public API, scored the way a machine reads it, then decomposed by practice area, read for agent-readiness, and benchmarked head to head against rival funds. Decks are easy to write and contracts are not, and the distance between the two is where this report lives.
Who buys it
The fund and its LPs, for diligence — and the rival fund or founder who wants to know who they backed, how it really scores, and where the door was left open.
The deck says one thing. The contracts say another.
Every fund has a thesis about infrastructure, or agents, or developer tools. A Portfolio Report checks that thesis against what the companies in the book actually ship — because a deck is easy to write and a machine-readable contract is not. Sometimes the book confirms the thesis. More often the interesting finding is the gap: the fund with the loudest agentic thesis holding a book that breaks the moment an agent stops reading and starts doing.
What's in every one
- The firm and the book — how many portfolio companies actually ship a public API
- Portfolio decomposition by practice area — does the book look like the deck?
- The composite score of the book, facet by facet
- Agent-readiness across the portfolio — breadth versus depth
- The peer-fund benchmark — apples to apples against rival funds on the same rubric
- The crown jewels — provider by provider on the exemplars
- Security, auth, scopes, and compliance posture across the book
- The whitespace — for the fund, and for everyone reading it
- The investable thesis, written for both readers
Written for two readers at once
The fund and its LPs read it as diligence on a book they already hold. The rival fund or the founder reads it to find out who was backed, how those companies really score under the hood, and where the door was left open. Both readings are supported deliberately — which is also why the benchmark section exists, and why every fund is scored on identical machinery so the comparison holds up.
