The Partech API Portfolio
Every Partech company that ships an API, scored the way a machine reads it — a European operator's book that went agent-native before it built a single exemplar.
About this paper
I read Partech’s portfolio the way a machine reads it — not the pitch, the evidence. Partech is a global, Paris-rooted venture platform, and of its companies that resolve into my catalog, 38 ship a public API I could pull, parse, and score on the same rubric I apply to Stripe. This report is about those 38, because the interface is the part of a company an integrator, an acquirer, or an agent can actually inspect — and a fund’s book of APIs is a truer signal of its bet than its thesis page.
The headline is a shape I have not seen in this series before. Partech’s API book is agent-forward and exemplar-less at the same time: sixteen of the 38 providers (42%) are already agent-native — a higher share than a16z, Accel, or Insight — and yet not one company clears the 70-point exemplar band. The book tops out at Pennylane, 68.9, on a mean composite of 47.7 that sits near the bottom of every fund I have benchmarked. This is a European operator’s book that learned to talk to agents before it built the governance, the scopes, the examples, and the security depth that separate a strong company from a top one — a “skills-first, governance-later” signature that runs through everything the report reads, company by company: the Fintech-spined decomposition, the Kin Score facet-by-facet, the twelve-dimension agent-readiness inversion, the honest benchmark against the deep-harvest funds, and the punch-list that would manufacture the fund’s first exemplar.
