About this paper

I read Seedcamp’s portfolio the way a machine reads it — not the founder story, the evidence. Seedcamp’s public portfolio resolves to a broad list of European seed and early-stage companies in my catalog, and 74 of them ship a public API I could pull, parse, and score on the same rubric I apply to Stripe. This report is about those 74, because the interface is the part of a young company you can actually inspect before the round catches up to the reality — and a fund’s book of APIs is a truer signal of its bet than its portfolio page.

The headline is two facts that sit uneasily together. Seedcamp holds the most agent-native API book of any fund I can measure — 42 of 74 providers (57%) are agent-native, a higher share than Y Combinator, a16z, or anyone at any scale — and it also has almost no top: only two companies clear the exemplar band, and one of them, Dust, is an empty repo that scores on catalog metadata alone. Read the ceiling honestly and Seedcamp has one verifiable exemplar. The book is broad, European, and disproportionately fluent in the agentic protocols, and at the very same time 78% of its upper band scores a flat zero on governance and consent-and-identity sits at 2%. If a16z was the mature estate and YC the American nursery, Seedcamp is Europe’s agent-native nursery — highest readiness rate in venture, softest top, and a regulated-fintech spine that most needs the governance it has not built. This report reads that signal company by company: the practice-area decomposition, the Kin Score facet-by-facet, the twelve-dimension agent-readiness table, the benchmark against the deeply-harvested funds, and the punch-list of what even the crown jewels have not shipped.

What's inside

  1. Executive summary — the highest agent-native rate in venture, and the softest top
  2. The firm, and the book — the 74 API-bearing companies (and the one empty repo)
  3. Portfolio decomposition — a broad European book with a regulated-fintech spine
  4. The composite Kin Score of the book — and why governance is 78% zero
  5. Agent-readiness of the portfolio — breadth is real, depth is three companies deep
  6. The peer-fund benchmark — the European nursery, and the small-sample caveat
  7. The crown jewels — provider-by-provider on the exemplars and the climbers
  8. Standards and the agentic turn — a book born into it
  9. Security, auth, scopes, and compliance posture across the book
  10. The regulated-fintech question, and the whitespace for the fund and its rivals
  11. The investable thesis — for Seedcamp, and for everyone reading it
