Workday — Enterprise Insights Bundle
What Workday is actually buying, read from all 341 of its own job postings — and why the only machine-readable contract you can download from it without a login is SOAP.
About this paper
Workday ranks 51st of 819 Fortune 1000 companies on AI investment, 8.1× the median, and its public API surface scores 70.2 on the Kin Score — ninth in a 33-company cohort whose mean is 57.1. Both halves of this account are strong, and that is the useful thing to know before a first call: it will read your interface as carefully as it reads your product.
The supply side is where the detail is, and it is not the shape most sellers expect. Workday’s
REST API documentation is behind a Workday Community login — community.workday.com/api answers
401 without one. What the company publishes in the open is its SOAP layer: 55 services at version
46.2, each with a downloadable WSDL and XSD, fetched and confirmed for this report. That is a
real, versioned, machine-readable contract layer, and this report’s own rating cannot see it,
because the Kin Score has no WSDL or SOAP check. The score below is read with that stated.
The REST definitions are ours. All 46 of them, covering 104 operations across 16 Workday services, were modelled by API Evangelist from published documentation, because Workday issues no downloadable OpenAPI. So are the llms.txt and the MCP tool surface in this profile. Every one is labelled as such in section 5, and a seller who assumes otherwise will find out on the first technical call.
One thing the hiring shows that the interface does not: seven postings are Paradox roles — “As part of Workday” — on Workday’s own board, concentrated in Tel Aviv on LLM and backend engineering. The conversational-AI capability is being staffed well ahead of anything visible in the published API surface.
Every technology carries the number of the account’s own postings it was found in and the term it matched on, so any claim can be checked or discarded. The complete machine-readable data bundle ships alongside the narrative.
